Off-grid Solar Home Power
The Solar Exchange has installed Off-grid Solar Home Power systems for over 32 years, helping a variety of clientele live comfortably in town or many miles from the closest power line. Based in Taylor, Arizona we have successfully completed Off-grid projects in Nigeria, Ecuador, all over Mexico, and across the American Southwest. A well designed and professionally installed Off-grid system provides clean quiet electrical power to well pumps, pressure pumps, refrigerators and freezers, power tools, electronics, lights and appliances, even Air Conditioning.
Grid-tie Solar Home Power with Battery Backup
This kind of Solar Home Power system offers everything that a straight Grid-tied system does, with the added benefit of backing up part or even all the home power loads if the grid fails for a short time or even indefinitely with a properly designed system and wise power management. Some of our clients who go with this option also choose to only buy from the Utility company when needed and not sell back to the power company, simplifying the permitting and inspection process. When designing for battery backup our decades of Off-grid Battery-based experience help us offer the best designed systems to our customers.
Grid-tie Solar Home Power
Solar Panels on the roof or ground mount generate power into a Grid-tied Inverter essentially turning the power company’s meter backward. These types of systems make a very compelling financial package, including power generated, state and federal tax credits and, in some localities, utility rebates the payback can be as quick as seven or eight years, but almost always less than ten years. These systems offer a fixed power bill immune to power rate increases, little to no maintenance, and last for decades. The downside of these systems is that they do not generate any power in the event of utility power failures.

I have an Outback solar charger/inverter in my RV that was showing a few error codes. I scheduled an appointment with Matt, who was able to diagnose the issue within 10 minutes as well as answer several other questions I had about the unit. Matt's 30 years in the business, friendly personality and quick fix was everything you expect from a quality company and solid work ethic. Cost of service is not represented in the review, because Matt didn't charge me for the service due to the code being normal (no parts needed).

This is a great place to buy solar panels and equipment. They cater to large/small and do it yourself solar systems. They also have great prices on solar panels.
The owner and staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable with any questions that you may have. They are also very professional with everything they do.
I would highly recommend them to anyone that is looking for someone to install a solar system, or to anyone looking to buy solar equipment, including batteries.
